Rental Requirements

Hiring Conditions, and which documents you need to provide to enable you to rent from Verviers Car and Van Rental. • You must have held your licence for a minimum of 12 months.

On the day of rental, you will need to bring the following:

• Full Driving Licence, if you hold a UK licence, bring the Photo card and Counterpart.*
• Recent (no more than 3 months old) proof of Address (Utility Bill, Tenant Agreement, Bank Statement etc)
• If an overseas visitor we will also need to see your Passport, and return flight tickets.
• Credit or Debit Card (We cannot accept cash, cheques or Visa Electron) 
*If you do not have the paper counterpart of your driving licence, we charge £7.50 + VAT to call DVLA and do a manual licence check.

  • You must have held your licence for a minimum of 12 months.

To rent a MINIBUS drivers must be aged 25 years or older AND have category DI on their drivers licence.

Endorsements

  • Providing that you have no major endorsements on your licence and have not received more than 3 points in the last 12 months, we should be able to rent to you.
  • Major endorsements include but are not limited to, drink driving DD, careless driving CD, dangerous driving DD, driving without insurance IN, if you are unsure, please contact the branch. click here

For all rentals the standard age range is 25 to 70. If you fall outside this range please read the following.

Under 25 years old

21 - 22 years old may be able to rent certain vehicles, only if the renter:

  • Has never been convicted of any endorsed traffic offence.
  • Has held a full drivers licence for a minimum of 24 months.

23 -24 years old must have held a full drivers licence for a minimum of 24 months.

  • There are also restrictions on the size of vehicle that you can rent.

Over 70 years old (71 - 75)

  • We may be able to rent you a vehicle subject to verification with our insurers, please contact the branch for more information. Click here

Aged over 75 (76 +)

  • It is unlikely that we can rent you any vehicle. However, if you have previously rented from us before reaching your 76th year, we may be able to rent to you as a returning customer, but we will need to refer to our insurer for approval. Please contact the branch for more information. click here
